Márcia Haussmann - Jewel of the House
About to complete 19 years with the Swan Hoteis chain, Márcia Haussmann is one of those people who chose her profession and not the other way around as is usually the case.
“In 1983, I was working in the production part of a shoe industry in my city, Teutônia, when a vacancy arose in the office. I began to learn administrative activities, I took a liking to the personnel department and I never left that area”, says Márcia, who makes a point of recognizing how much she admires the profession: “I love what I do”.
And what she does is no small feat: Márcia is responsible for managing payroll, calculating terminations, taxes, controlling time and progress of labor processes, in addition to distributing food vouchers. All of this in the network's six units.
Recently, it also began to take care of employee safety, such as purchasing personal protective equipment. “New legislation came into force over time, making it necessary for me to continually update myself to keep up with these changes”, highlights she, who has completed several training courses in recent years.
Due to these activities, Márcia experienced the pandemic period intensely. “In the first few months, employees' working hours were reduced and other adjustments were made, depending on new government systems for this. I even slept at the hotel to be able to complete the processes at a time when the system was available”, he recalls.
This time of learning and intensity is being replaced, little by little, by more serene ones. Márcia is transitioning to retirement. “Swan is family and will always be part of my heart. Now the time is coming to live other moments, but with planning and organization”, he reveals.
